now hiring: market manager

The Downtown Growers’ Market is hiring a Market Manager! Are you passionate about building community, supporting local growers, and creating vibrant urban spaces? We want you to lead as the Market Manager for Downtown Growers Market in ABQ!

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the market: vendor relations, site setup, and logistics.

  • Cultivate relationships with local producers, artisans, and partners to ensure a diverse, high-quality vendor lineup.

  • Drive community engagement and serve as the face of the market in Downtown ABQ.

  • Manage a close knit team, budgeting, compliance, and reporting to keep the market thriving.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone organized, people-oriented, with strong communication and de-escalation skills.

  • Experience in event coordination, farmers markets, or small business operations.

  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

  • Someone who enjoys speaking with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Is looking for a flexible working schedule

  • Is available to work Saturdays with reliable transportation.

Pay and Hours

  • $25/hour 

  • Training Hours, October – December: 15 – 20 hours / week

  • Post Training Hours, January – December: 35 hours max. / week

    • Note: Market season is April – November. We strive to keep these hours in the off season however, they may be reduced if the budget requires.

  • Benefits include paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.

2025 DGM Gala: The future

The Downtown Growers' Market Gala is a night of celebration, community, and giving back! Guests will enjoy a memorable experience with a delicious three-course meal, a dessert bar, and live music from DJ Flo Fader.

The evening will also feature a silent auction with unique vendor gift baskets, fun raffle prizes, and special recognitions of our market's outstanding contributors. Your ticket includes entry, a three course meal and raffle participation for the door prizes.

Dress to impress! The gala's theme is The Future celebrating the first year of our Budding Biz Entrepreneur section at the market. While dressing up is encouraged, no one will be excluded based on attire.

Enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and help support the DGM's growth and initiatives for the upcoming year. Proceeds from the event will support the Budding Biz Market expansion. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate, contribute, and be part of our thriving market community!
